AIG Considering Suing Government
You may have seen the TV or newspaper ads over the last few days from AIG: They’re the company that got a federal government bail-out in 2008 of $182 billion and the ad says thanks to America for helping them out and that they’ve paid back all they borrowed. Now AIG is considering suing the federal government and that has several senators and members of congress understandably upset. AIG contends that in the bailout that the government took an 80% stake in the company and didn’t adequately pay the shareholders.
