Apple Gives Government Customer Data; Only By Request
NEW YORK (AP) — Apple is disclosing customer data requests from U.S. law enforcement but insists no agency has access to its servers. Apple says any requests for customer content needs a court order. Apple says it received between 4,000 and 5,000 law enforcement requests for customer data between Dec. 1, 2012 and May 31.
