Argentina Won't Pay Back Loan To U.S. In Full
BUENOS AIRES, Argentina (AP) — Argentina has until midnight tonight to propose how it'll satisfy a $1.4 billion U.S. judgment on sovereign debt that the country hasn't paid since its world-record default in 2002. A U.S. federal court ordered Argentina to pay the money. But Argentina's media have been reporting that the country plans to pay back no more than 30 percent and offer new bonds. Analysts say that would lead Argentina into another catastrophic default.
