SAN JUAN CAPISTRANO, Calif. (AP) - A Southern California city
will review its land-use codes for churches after a dustup with a
San Juan Capistrano couple who hosted a large Bible study group at
City Attorney Omar Sandoval says the city has dismissed its
citation and refunded $300 to Chuck and Stephanie Fromm, whose
neighbors complained about their Bible study gatherings.
Sandoval says neighbors complained that 50 cars would converge
on the narrow cul-de-sac every Sunday morning and a couple of
nights a week, causing traffic and parking problems.
In talks with the city manager, Sandoval says both sides came to
believe that the city's code needs review and revision, and
involving lawyers would not be necessary.
