Clerical Workers and Longshoremen Back to Work
LOS ANGELES (AP) — Clerical workers and longshoremen are expected to be back on the job at the nation's largest port complex this morning. A strike by clerical workers at the ports of Los Angeles and Long Beach has kept shippers from delivering billions of dollars in cargo over the past eight days, as longshoremen refused to cross picket lines. Negotiators reached a tentative agreement to end the strike last night, shortly after federal mediators arrived from Washington, D.C.
