Colorado Shooting - Prayers for Healing
AURORA, Colo. (AP) — Voices and hands raised in prayer, Coloradans of many faiths have remembered the 12 people killed in Friday's mass shooting at a movie theater.
At Calvary Chapel of Aurora, Pastor Ed Taylor assured worshippers that God remains a source of comfort in the midst of tragedy and had not abandoned the community. His congregation and others prayed for the wounded and for victims' families.
There were tears of relief for loved ones who survived and anxious questions from those whose faith was shaken by the massacre.
Worshippers at a Presbyterian church within walking distance of shooting suspect James Holmes' apartment joined in prayer. It appeared that none of them had ever met him.
