GOP Candidates - Faith
ORLANDO, Fla. (AP) - Republican presidential contenders have
expressed their religious convictions at a Faith & Family Coalition
event in Orlando, Fla.
Hours before they met in debate Thursday evening, the candidates
emphasized that the Declaration of Independence says human rights
come from God rather than government.
Former Sen. Rick Santorum said those rights are meant to be used
to serve God and obey his laws.
Minnesota Congresswoman Michele Bachmann said God's blessings
flow when people stand for what the Bible teaches.
Texas Congressman Ron Paul said the Bible's principles include
sound money and honest measures.
Texas Gov. Rick Perry said Christians should pray for the nation
and the president.
