Gospel Mission

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (AP) - The president of the Association
of Gospel Rescue Missions is urging Christians to remember the
homeless this Christmas holiday season.
John Ashmen says many of the association's 275 missions are so
full that they're using all available floor space just to sleep
people.
He hopes Christians preparing to open presents or enjoy a
holiday meal will donate time or money to help the needy.
While government programs can help meet physical needs, Ashmen
says gospel rescue missions also offer spiritual guidance to help
the abused and addicted recover and get on with their lives.
But he says member missions offer food and shelter without
forcing people to sit through a chapel service first.
