Gun Control Measure Fails In WA Senate
OLYMPIA, Wash. (AP) — Another measure seeking to control gun violence has failed in the Washington state Legislature. A bill that would have required people to surrender their weapons when they are placed under a restraining order did not get a Senate vote ahead of a key deadline yesterday. Democratic Rep. Roger Goodman expressed frustration about the lack of a vote, saying the measure was the most rational bill related to guns that the Legislature was considering this year. Republican Sen. Mike Padden says the measure didn't get a vote because some were concerned about the idea of taking guns away from people who hadn't been convicted of a crime.
