Hurricane Sandy Threats To New York Area
NEW YORK (AP) — New York City faces a surge of seawater of anywhere from 6 to 11 feet from Hurricane Sandy. Schools, mass transit and financial trading are closed and hundreds of thousands have evacuated. The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration calls the projected storm surge "the worst-case scenario" for New York City, Long Island and northern New Jersey.
