Idaho Gets Exception To "No Child Left Behind"

BOISE, Idaho (AP) — The U.S. Department of Education has granted waivers to parts of the federal No Child Left Behind law to Idaho, one of the first states to push for more flexibility under the law. The waivers allow the state to develop alternative benchmarks for tracking school improvements. Superintendent of Public Instruction Tom Luna calls it a great day for Idaho teachers, students and schools.
