Idaho Shipping Out Prisoners
BOISE, Idaho (AP) — For the first time in nearly seven years, Idaho is sending prison inmates out of state to ease overcrowding in the state's prisons. The state Department of Correction has signed a contract to send up to 800 inmates to a privately-run prison in Colorado. Idaho will pay Corrections Corporation of America more than $4.8 million to house the inmates.
