More Surviellance Privileges for Intelligence Community

WASHINGTON (AP) - Amid a continuing debate in Congress over government eavesdropping after revelations about the National Security Agency, some lawmakers are moving to give the intelligence community even more latitude in the fight against terrorists. A Senate panel holds a hearing later today on legislation to close what lawmakers call a surveillance gap that occasionally can occur because of varying legal standards covering the activities of the NSA and FBI.
