Nasty Storm Rakes The U.S. Heartland

JACKSON, Miss. (AP) — As a huge, violent weather system rakes across the South and Central U.S., police in Nashville are reporting a death tied to the storms. They tell WTVF-TV that a man was killed when a large tree fell on a shed where the man had sought shelter. The National Weather Service is checking a number tornado reports and is warning that the collision of cold and warm weather systems could generate more, along with violent thunderstorms, heavy rain and damaging winds.
