Obama Defends NSA Surveillance To Germany


BERLIN (AP) — President Barack Obama is again defending sweeping surveillance programs run by the National Security Agency. During a news conference in Germany today with Chancellor Angela Merkel (AHN'-geh-lah MEHR'-kuhl) Obama said at least 50 threats have been averted in the U.S. and other countries. He insists both programs have strict court oversight.
