Omak Area Fire Update; New Fire On The West Side Of WA

OMAK, Wash. (AP) — A wildfire burning on the Colville Indian Reservation in north-central Washington has burned across more than 15 square miles and threatens more than 50 homes while a new fire on the west side of the state threatens 100 structures. Fire spokesman Mark Grassel says the fire east of Omak had burned across more than 9,600 acres by late yesterday and was 15 percent contained. The new wildfire west of the Cascades started yesterday afternoon and quickly grew to 150 acres.
