Oregon House Passes Criminal Sentencing Bill
SALEM, Ore. (AP) — The Oregon House has passed a package of pared-down criminal sentencing changes that is projected to curb state prison population growth over the next five years. The House advanced the bill 40-18 on Thursday. It now goes to the Senate. Among other changes, the bill would reduce sentences established in 2008 for certain drug and property crimes.
