WASHINGTON (AP) — How much are your private conversations worth to the government? Depending on the technology, a lot. And they're paid for with your tax dollars. A murky multimillion-dollar market has emerged with little public scrutiny. Verizon gets top dollar for the information, charging the government $775 for the first month and $500 a month after that to snoop on its customers. Emails probably were collected for free or very cheaply.
