Pittsylvania Prayer

DANVILLE, Va. (AP) - Officials in a southern Virginia county are
being sued for allegedly opening their board meetings with
Christian prayers.
The American Civil Liberties Union of Virginia filed a federal
lawsuit Monday against the Pittsylvania County Board of
Supervisors.
The ACLU said it filed the lawsuit on behalf of an anonymous
resident who has attended the board's meetings for the past three
years and objects to the prayers because she's not a Christian.
The lawsuit claims that the invocations make non-Christian
residents feel unwelcome.
The ACLU is asking that the court stop what it calls an
unconstitutional endorsement of religion.
