Plane Problems End Well After A Slide Off Runway

EPHRATA, Wash. (AP) — A spokesman for Big Bend Community College says a small plane flown by a college instructor and a student slid off a runway at the Ephrata, Wash., Municipal Airport but no one was injured. Campus security director Kyle Foreman said the instructor was teaching a touch-and-go landing yesterday afternoon when a gust of wind pushed one of the wings down. Foreman says the pilot hit a sign and a light on the runway and the damaged plane came to a stop off the runway.
