President Confident Of Tax Deal
WASHINGTON (AP) — The White House has issued a statement saying President Barack Obama "will work with Congress" to reach a deal that averts automatic tax hikes and spending cuts set to begin in January. The statement didn't say whether Obama would work with House Speaker John Boehner. Boehner's Republican colleagues won't line up behind his alternative tax plan that had been dubbed "Plan B."
