Recovered red-tailed hawk released at Pasco school
PASCO, Wash. (AP) - Students at Mark Twain Elementary School in
Pasco watched a red-tailed hawk fly back into the wild Tuesday, two
weeks after it had been found in distress on school grounds.
The hawk had apparently picked up poison intended for starlings
or rodents.
It was treated at Blue Mountain Wildlife in Pendleton, Ore.
Director Lynn Tompkins told Tri-City Herald it's a lesson for
students to be careful with poison.
