Russian Meteor Shower Freaks Out Population
MOSCOW (AP) — Russian officials say more than 500 people have gotten medical treatment following this morning's meteor that caused shock waves in Russia's Ural Mountains. Thirty-four people were hospitalized. Scientists say the 10-ton meteor sped into the Earth's atmosphere at at least 33,000 mph, shattering and causing explosions that broke glass over a wide area.
