Seattle Explosion - Fire

SEATTLE (AP) - Utility crews have found three more natural gas
leaks in the north Seattle neighborhood where a home exploded,
injuring two residents in a two-alarm fire.
Puget Sound Energy spokeswoman Martha Monfried says the pipes
have been dug up for repair.
More than two dozen utility employees are using sniffer
equipment to sweep the area within five miles of Monday's blast.
Harborview Medical Center said Tuesday that the woman injured in
the fire remains in serious condition and her husband is in
satisfactory condition.
Fire Department spokesman Kyle Moore says damage from the blast
is estimated at $350,000.
Puget Sound Energy says the leaks were apparently caused by
corrosion from electrical current after a tree knocked down a wire
Sunday.
The utility has 750,000 natural gas customers in five counties.
