See You At The Pole
SAN DIEGO (AP) - A national coordinator of today's "See You At
The Pole" event says the students praying around their school
flagpoles before class this morning are not protesting anything.
Doug Clark says the annual event gives Christian students a
chance to meet and pray for each other, for their schools and for
the nation.
Clark says that while parents and pastors may encourage
participation, "See You At The Pole" is student-led. He says
demonstrating their faith in public can be a growth experience for
teens.
The prayer circles on thousands of campuses nationwide attract
an estimated one million to two million students each year on the
fourth Wednesday in September.
