Superstorm Sandy in Economic Numbers

WASHINGTON (AP) — Disruptions caused by Superstorm Sandy are still showing up in the nation's economic numbers. The government says Americans cut back on their spending in October and saw no growth in their income, reflecting the impact of the storm that struck near the end of that month. The Commerce Department says consumer spending dipped by 0.2 percent. Work interruptions caused by the storm reduced wages and salaries by about $18 billion.
