US Concerned Over Fate of Iranian Christian Pastor

WASHINGTON (AP) - The Obama administration says it is deeply
worried that Iran may execute a Christian pastor.
A White House statement condemns Iran's persecution of Pastor
Youcef Nadarkhani, who faces a death sentence for refusing to
renounce Christianity and return to Islam.
Jordan Sekulow of the American Center for Law and Justice says a
friend of Nadarkhani reported seeing the pastor alive on Tuesday,
but there's been no word since. Sekulow says, "Every day now we
believe it's more and more likely he'll actually be executed."
The White House is urging other nations and all people of
conscience to join it in demanding that Iran release Nadarkhani,
saying religious freedom is a "fundamental and universal human
Sekulow echoes that call for public outcry and urges people to
keep praying as well.
