WA State Boosters To Help Tourism

YAKIMA, Wash. (AP) - Cash-strapped Washington has become the only state in the nation to close its tourism office, and a
fledging group of tourism boosters now are trying to craft a plan
to promote the state to visitors. The Yakima Herald-Republic says
the nonprofit, mostly volunteer-run Washington Tourism Alliance met
last week in Yakima to talk ideas, with about 30 representatives of
hotels, convention centers and wineries aiming to promote the
state's wineries, backcountry and cities.
