WSU Student In Hospital With Bacterial Meningitis

SPOKANE, Wash. (AP) — Health officials say a 19-year-old Washington State University student has been hospitalized with bacterial meningitis. WSU spokesman Darin Watkins tells The Spokesman-Review that the young man began to have flu-like symptoms about two weeks ago. He was treated Sunday at a Pullman hospital, then taken to Providence Sacred Heart Medical Center in Spokane. Watkins says the student is in critical condition.
