Yellen testifies before Senate Banking Committee

Washington (AP) - President Barck Obama's pick to head the Federal Reserce testifies before the Senate Banking Committee this morning in her fonfirmation hearing.  In prepared testimony, Janet Yellen says the economy has regained ground lost to the deepest recession since the 1930s. But, she says, unemployment remains too high at 7.3 percent.  Yellen offers no hints that she would deviate from outgoing Fed Chariman Ben Bernanke's extraordinary measures to try to keep long-term borrowing rates near historic lows.
