Rice for Cambodia Wrap Up

During the 14th annual Rice for Cambodia Campaign, which recently ended, Positive Life Radio listeners pledged more than $163,000 toward the purchase of rice to feed families in need in this country that’s been marked by war, poverty, and hunger.

“We called in a pledge for 2 tons of rice,” one listener said. “As I paid the $45 bill for our dinner at a Chinese restaurant, the impact of what that same $45 could do in Cambodia convicted me to do more. The thought of Rice for Cambodia distributing the final bag of rice next spring and potentially having to turn families away is enough for me to find a way to provide the funding for this additional 2 tons of rice.”

“The amazing response from our listeners tells me they truly understand what Jesus was trying to tell us—about thinking outside of ourselves and helping others in need,” says Kevin Krueger, general manager. “I’m honored to be a part of this extended family.”

During the three-day campaign, station employees were joined by volunteers and student workers. Also part of the event were TransformAsia and Musicianaries—partnering organizations that help fund and distribute the rice. The amount raised during this year’s campaign will buy about 272 tons of rice, which will be distributed next year.

It’s not too late to participate. For more information, visit Positive Life Radio online at www.plr.org, or call 1-800-355-4757. Positive Life Radio is located on the campus of Walla Walla University.

His story has brought thousands to know the Lord - and to know Him better. What a privilege it is for us to welcome Pastor Setan Lee to the Rice for Cambodia Campaign.
Pastor Setan Lee narrowly escaped death during what has been termed
of Cambodia in the early 70's. The
documented Setan's story. His story is one of many miracles and of amazing love shown to him - a love that he has dedicated his life to sharing with fellow Cambodians.
Pastor Lee is the president of TransformAsia - a non-profit organization specifically for helping Cambodians find relief from poverty, to share the love of Jesus with them, and to train pastors and Bible workers in the country.
Listen for Pastor Setan Lee on the air during the Rice for Cambodia Campaign.

Rice for Cambodia 2012

For over 10 years the Positive Life Radio listening family has helped people in need in Cambodia. Through the summer mission trip literally 10's of thousands of people are fed. And it is also an honor to introduce them to Jesus Christ and feed them spiritually.
Rice for Cambodia is a Hands & Heart project. We partner with Musicanaries and TransformAsia in this wonderful and huge project. Last year just over $200,000 was pledged by over 1,000 Positive Life Radio listeners. We are ready to see what God does this year!
- $600 - Sponsors 1 ton of rice
- $300 - Sponsors 1/2 ton of rice
- $15 - 50 lb bag of rice will feed a family of 4 for one month
Thank you for your generosity - for helping so many who are in such desperate need. Thank you for being the Hands & Heart of Jesus.
Thank you as well for keeping our Rice for Cambodia mission trip in your prayers.
Our annual Rice for Cambodia Campaign is Oct. 24 and 25 and until 10am on Friday, Oct. 26.
To make your pledge of support call 800-355-4757 or
.
